What are some ways to sell and buy wholesale?

So what I mean is, I want to buy from a wholesaler and sell them maybe $2-$3 dollars more then the wholesale price and wholesale them myself, sound legit or should I just ask them if they could sell the products to me at a cheaper price so i can wholesale them
