How would i sue someone for damages to my car?

ok so yesterday i was in a car accident, a lady who was uninsured and had no driver's license hit my car and made over $2,300.00 worth of damage to the right side of my car, i live in chicago how would i go about suing her for the damage?? My insurance says i have to pay a $500.00 deductible i don't think i should have to pay anything to be honest with you since it was not my fault. She had minor scratches to the front of her van's bumper while my door was left hanging... is it too soon for me to start the proceedings?
