How am I ordered to pay this much in child support?

I don't really know very much about child support so i am not sure how that works but just taking out what she makes as a factor and focusing on what you make, to be honest $400 a month from $60K a year does not sound like very much (only $4,800 a year actually). So you should consider yourself lucky that it is not worse.
